Scott Brown breaks silence on Fleetwood sacking as Celtic hero insists he’ll learn from first managerial stint

SCOTT BROWN has vowed to come back stronger following his Fleetwood axe.
The Celtic hero was dramatically sacked by the English League One club following a dismal start to the season.
Brown, 38, left his role with immediate effect alongside former Rangers defender Steven Whittaker and Barry Nicholson.
The ex-Hoops, Hibs and Aberdeen midfielder paid the price for the club's horror run of form at the start of the campaign after Fleetwood failed to win any of their opening six matches.
And taking to social media to thank everyone involved with the club, Brown wrote: “I am sad to leave Fleetwood Town Football Club after only 15 months as Head Coach, but I would like to thank the Board for giving me the opportunity to join the club last May.
“We worked hard throughout our time at the club, after a challenging start, to continue the club’s excellent record in League One.

"I was fully committed to the club and was excited to sign a new contract in the summer, with ambitions to build on our 13th place finish last season and record-breaking FA Cup run.
“However, the disappointing start to the season has resulted in a situation in which Steven Whittaker, Barry Nicholson and I have left the club.
"I would like to thank Steven, Barry and Owain Fôn Williams for their support and hard work on and off the pitch. I would also like to thank the wider staff team at the club, who show up every day to make sure the team can perform to the highest possible level.
“The group as a whole have taken responsibility for the performances and poor results in the past month, but I am proud of the success we shared as a team last season and I expect the team to pull together and climb the table soon.
