Former Rangers striker Antonio Colak shares adorable fan photo proving he’s gone but not forgotten after Ibrox spell

ANTONIO Colak left Rangers during Michael Beale's significant summer rebuild and signed for Parma.

But he left a lasting impression at Ibrox - on the fans AND the club accounts.

The Croatian striker scored the crucial goal against PSV Eindhoven a year ago that fired the Gers into the Champions League group stage after a 12-year absence.

It was one of several from the forward who left Ibrox after just a year with a proud goal ratio.

Colak headed off to Serie A boasting a record of a goal in just shy of every two games with 18 in 39 appearances.

And it's that goalscoring instinct that won him many fans including these two youngsters.

They were sporting the striker's name on their jerseys at their local football training class in Pollokshaws, Glasgow.

Soundtracked by Rangers' club anthem Simply the Best the young fans are seen studying their upcoming skill drill at the indoor complex on the southside of Glasgow.

Dad Marko Curic shared the adorable image on Instagram and it went down a storm with newly married Colak in Italy - who shared it himself.

And Colak is not the only favourite of the young football fanatics - their dad has also previously showed them both wearing the green and white hoops of Old Firm rivals Celtic - with Josip Juranovic's name on the back.

The connection is Croatia and Split-born Marko and his brother Mate are the family pair behind restaurant Zinfandel in Strathbungo - popular with footballers on BOTH sides of the Old Firm with its Croatian-Scottish fusion giving them a taste of home.

Fellow Gers player Nico Katic was also spotted eating out during his spell in Glasgow.

Rangers spent more than £12m recruiting Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Danilo to replace Colak and fellow strike partner Alfredo Morelos this summer.

But lack of game time for his big name recruits has heaped pressure on Michael Beale as scores have failed to live up to expectations.

The Ibrox boss headed straight down the tunnel at full-time last Sunday as Celtic won the Old Firm derby 1-0 - and the home fans aired their displeasure.

The Gers have won only two of their first four league games and PSV also gained revenge and consigned them to the Europa League in a heavy 7-3 aggregate win in the UCL play-offs.
