Arsenal have released images from Wednesday's training session as attentions shift towards the return of Premier League action.

The Gunners face Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday afternoon but manager Mikel Arteta has to wait another day before he's reunited with the majority of his international stars such as Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, Gabriel Magalhaes, Bukayo Saka and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

However, the session did include Jakub Kiwior as he finished his international commitments with Poland earlier in the week. As expected, Ben White, Jorginho, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson were present too having not been selected by their respective nations.

A day removed from being named in Arsenal's 25-man List A squad for this season's Champions League, Cedric Soares was spotted in a training session for the first time since August 15 as he looks set to be reintegrated having not sealed an exit during the summer transfer window.

In a huge boost for Mohamed Elneny, the club have revealed the midfielder is getting closer to the end of his long injury lay-off. The Egypt international hasn't featured since scoring in the FA Cup third-round win over Oxford United back in January as he underwent knee surgery shortly after.

With 15 senior players selected for international duty, it means Arteta called in several academy players to help supplement the session at London Colney and among those included was Miguel Azeez.

The midfielder spent the first half of last season out on loan in the Spanish second division with UD Ibizia but after struggling to hold down a regular place in the side, returned to England to see out the campaign with Wigan Athletic although he only managed two appearances for the then-Championship side.

Taylor Foran and Ovie Ejeheri, fellow members of last season's loan army were also present for the session whilst Jimi Gower - who signed his first professional contract with the club earlier in the summer - was called up alongside defender Zane Monlouis and highly-rated duo Charles Sagoe JR and Bradley Ibrahim.

In addition, Khayon Edwards was in first-team training once again. Injury halted the striker's progress as last season he was very much in Arteta's plans having been named on the substitutes bench for the Europa League game against FK Bodo/Glimt. Fully fit now, scored against Reading U23s last time out, the youngster will have been hoping to impress the Arsenal manager a day after turning 20.
