Arthur Melo pays touching tribute to Liverpool 'family' after season of struggle at Anfield
Former Liverpool midfielder Arthur Melo has revealed what surprised him about his Anfield stint
Arthur Melo has detailed his injury struggles from the disappointing Liverpool loan spell but has no ill feelings over his failed move.
The Juventus loanee was restricted to just 13 minutes of competitive football but endured a lot of his temporary move at Anfield, on the sidelines with injuries. However, the Brazilian says that he used his problematic time on Merseyside for good.
Arthur made the shock deadline day move to Liverpool in August 2022 after Jordan Henderson had been injured during the Reds' dramatic win over Newcastle United at Anfield.
During that summer, Darwin Nunez and Fabio Carvalho were among the high-profile arrivals after they had previously fallen marginally short of the quadruple as Jurgen Klopp opted against bolstering his midfield ranks.

The Reds made the late dash to acquire the then 26-year-old on loan but ultimately the move to the Premier League failed. Arthur is now plying his trade back in the Serie A with Fiorentina, where he has been ever-present for La Viola in all of their opening four matches in the Italian top-flight.
Arthur explains his initial excitement surrounding his move to Liverpool but admitted that he came away from the loan stronger mentally.
"I was really looking forward to playing in a different championship," he said. "Everything was going very well in a great team, but in training I had an injury.
"It was hard, mentally very hard, but you also learn. Now I look back and got something productive out of the injury. I started to work on the mental part, nutrition, rest and sleep. It was bad luck, but it belongs to the past now.
"Liverpool has surprised me a lot," Arthur added in an interview with AS. "The fans are incredible, but within the club everything has Klopp's face. It is a family.
"There is always someone who wants to help others, from the first worker to the president. At Liverpool if one wins, they win everything. If you lose, everyone loses.
"As a coach he (Jurgen Klopp) is fantastic, whether on the field or off, the person and character come into play. And with all that, how he manages the team is impressive. I only have nice things to say about him."
