Everton linked with shock goalkeeper transfer

Well, this would certainly throw the England first-choice goalkeeper debate into some disarray...

If Everton could sign three English players, who would they be? Spanish outlet Fichajes have done their best to speculate and say the Blues could offer stars from Premier League rivals game time to earn their spots in Gareth Southgate's squad for the Euros next summer.

The first and most surprising name on the list is Arsenal's Aaron Ramsdale. He is of course in direct contention with Jordan Pickford for the national team's starting spot, however Fichajes say Ramsdale - who has been ousted by David Raya at his current club - would replace Pickford in January, who would be sold. Wild!

The other two names are strugglers Harry Maguire and Kalvin Phillips, who have been consigned to back-up roles at Manchester United and Manchester City respectively.

Maximilian Beier interest

According to BILD, Everton hold an interest in Hoffenheim centre forward Maximilian Beier.

The German publication states that the Blues and Brentford have picked up on the 20-year-old's performances this season as he has registered four goals in five Bundesliga matches.

Beier's form has not only caught the attention of potential suitors, new German national team coach is also watching on with eyes on a first senior call-up. The player's release clause is believed to be £17m.

Date set for next Carabao Cup clash

An opportunity for Everton to inch closer to silverware and a reunion for Sean Dyche with his former club - the Blues' next Carabao Cup tie has been handed a date and kick-off time:

Rob Edwards provides Luton Town injury update

Good news if you're a Blue, bad news if you're a Hatter as Luton Town have quite the injury list heading to Goodison Park tomorrow.

Via BBC Sport, the club's manager Rob Edwards revealed all in his press conference today, including that there unfortunately won't be a reunion with one ex-Evertonian.

This is because Ross Barkley has been deemed unavailable. Along with him on that list is Gabriel Osho, Dan Potts and Jordan Clark. Loan signing Albert Sambi Lokonga is also injured and has returned to parent club Arsenal for the time being.

Edwards was able to provide one piece of good news for his side at least, stating that Tom Lockyer is back in contention.

Everton linked with backroom staff steal

Ownership, board members, the changes keep on coming at Everton as the club are also suggested to be on their way to appointing a new European scout in the near future.

This is according to Portsmouth local publication The News, who report that Portsmouth FC head of recruitment Phil Boardman is 'primed' to swap Fratton Park for Goodison Park.

Boardman was previously head of performance analysis at Wolves, where he worked alongside Everton's current director of football Kevin Thelwell.

Danjuma: 'The belief is increasing every day'

Arnaut Danjuma says Everton have more belief after winning their last two outings.

The Blues beat Brentford to pick up their first Premier League win before progressing into the next round of the Carabao Cup at Aston Villa's expense.

The Dutchman says there's foundation to perform, he told Evertonfc.com: "Belief is the most important. We have amazing players and it’s an amazing club.

"The facilities are great and the fans are amazing, so the foundations have always been there for the players to perform. It’s just that bit of belief that sometimes isn’t there, but I think it's increasing every day. It shows because we’ve won the last two games now.

"It goes hand in hand. Once you start winning games, you get more belief, and once you get more belief, you win more games."

Chris Sutton gives Everton vs Luton prediction

Chris Sutton has praised Everton and Sean Dyche after recording back-to-back wins.

The BBC Sport pundit was impressed by how the Blues approached their Carabao Cup clash with Aston Villa, folllowing on from their improtant victory over Bentford last weekend. Everton host Luton Town on Satuday and Sutton has predicted a 2-0 home win for the Toffees.

"I can't see [Luton] getting anything at Goodison Park, to be honest. Their gameplan will be to frustrate Everton, but Dyche has options up front now Dominic Calvert-Lewin is fit and in form. He could even play Beto alongside him too."

Dyche gives Coleman and Gomes fitness updates

Sean Dyche has provided injury updates on both Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes.

The Everton squad is looking a lot healthier after missing the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Arnaut Danjuma and Dwight McNeil on the opening day. Jack Harrison has also made his debut for the club after returning to fitness.

However, Coleman and Gomes are still undergoing their recoveries at Finch Farm.

Everton show 'interest' in former Manchester United star

Adnan Januzaj, remember him?

The former Manchester United starlet left England in 2017 and spent five years with Real Sociedad before earning a move to Sevilla last summer. However, the28-year-old struggled to break into the team and was sent on loan to Istanbul Basaksehir for part of the season.

Despite sticking with the Spanish side, Sports Mole has claimed that Everton are 'showing interest' in the winger ahead of a possible January move. Sevilla are also dealing with financial issues and put their entire squad up for sale at one point in the recent transfer window.

777-controlled Vasco de Gama hit with transfer ban

Vasco de Gama have been hit with a FIFA transfer ban for late payments to clubs, according to reports in Brazil.

The Brazilian side are controlled by 777 Partners, prospective owners of Everton, but have been sanctioned by the governing body, as per Globo.

Ligue 1 side Lille, Nacional of Uruguay and Argentinian side Atletico Tucumen have sued for debts owed.

It has been said that 777 will supplement a contribution, with interest, by October 5. There were complaints from South American clubs in July however, it has been said that it is not a concern for Vasco who plan to pay off their debts by the end of the season.

With the payment from 777 reassuring Vasco, it has been claimed that the cash flow will be normalised enabling the debts to be paid off.

It is worth noting that there is no mention of Everton or the prospective takeover within the article from Brazil.

Steve Rotheram said he had a "frank and open" discussion with prospective Everton owners 777 Partners over a number of key issues, including the financing and completion of the club’s new stadium.

The Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, who wrote of his concerns over the state of affairs at the Blues and the direction in which the club was heading in the Liverpool ECHO this week, met with the US investment firm on Wednesday.

During the meeting, scheduled after his intervention, he discussed the stadium development along with wider issues including the plans for a legacy project on the site of Goodison Park after the club’s move to the Liverpool waterfront.
