Ex-Man Utd star Javier Hernandez rejects Cristiano Ronaldo claims about Real Madrid spell
Man United sent Javier Hernandez out on loan to Real Madrid back in 2014 for a full season.
Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has quashed suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo was 'difficult' to work with during his season-long loan spell at Real Madrid just under a decade ago.
Hernandez, who joined United from C.D. Guadalajara in 2010, joined Madrid in September 2014, signing on loan for the duration of the 2014/15 campaign. He made 33 appearances during his stint in the Spanish capital, scoring nine goals and registering nine assists.
His temporary switch to the Spanish heavyweights gave him the opportunity to play alongside Ronaldo, who had left Old Trafford just over a year earlier. He was, however, unable to help Madrid win a collection of silverware that season, with the club winning only the FIFA Club World Cup.

They finished second in La Liga, just two points behind table-toppers Barcelona, and were knocked out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage. Nevertheless, it was a year that allowed Hernandez to experience playing alongside Ronaldo, who scored an astonishing 61 goals in all competitions that season.
"I always divided it as the first six months being very complicated because I played practically nothing," Hernandez told Paramount+. "Some unfortunate injuries arose and I was given an opportunity in the second part, which was extraordinary and unique.
"Cristiano was phenomenal in the locker room and also in his way of being. I don't think I have met or seen a player who has come out to say that Cristiano is a difficult or complicated person.
"Cris is Cris. We know his personality and competitiveness, but as a team-mate that is one of the things you cannot take away."
Hernandez, who plundered 59 goals in 157 games in his United career, is now on the books of US giants LA Galaxy, with whom he has been with since January 2020. The now-35-year-old has scored 39 goals for the MLS club so far.
