Real Sociedad star feigns injury before cheeky celebration as fans say 'behave yourself'

Takefusa Kubo has continued his impressive form with Real Sociedad this season as he followed up his fifth league goal with quite the cheeky celebration

Takefusa Kubo's celebration took all the attention from Real Sociedad's impressive 3-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

The La Liga star has been the main man for his club this season, leading them in the goal scoring charts with five goals as he trails only Jude Bellingham in the entire league. The Japanese international scored nine goals last season and is already just four off his tally this season having played just seven games. Kubo starred once again for Real Sociedad in their 3-0 win against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday (September 30) which took them to fourth in the table.

The 22-year-old scored the second goal in the game as he decided to mark the finish with a hilarious celebration as while running to his team-mates, he began holding his hamstring, sparking fears of an injury, before he put those fears to bed and began twerking much to the delight of his colleagues who couldn't hold their laughter in.

A clip of Kubo's celebration was posted by the official X account of La Liga, which has since been seen almost a million times as fans had their say on his unique celebration. One fan jokingly told the winger to "Behave yourself mate" while another was stunned as they wrote: "Why bro was twerkin!!".

A third was baffled by the celebration choice as they said: "Bizarre celebration" while a fourth user decided to focus on Kubo's performances as they added: "He’s been phenomenal this season". It's certainly been a breakout season for the 22-year-old who's been linked to a move to Liverpool as he's reportedly been earmarked as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

The Kawasaki native is no stranger to the atmosphere of massive clubs as he spent four years in Barcelona's famed 'La Masia' academy before moving to Real Madrid in 2019, but never played for the Spanish giants, instead going on four separate loan moves in La Liga before securing a permanent move to Sociedad last year.

Prior to leaving Madrid, he admitted that his long-standing goal was to play for the side back in 2020. "My dream has always been to become one of the best players and I won’t stop working to achieve that," he said. I’ve always said that my goal was to play for Real Madrid and I work for that, doing the best job I can even if I don’t know what will happen. I love being able to play football in one of the best leagues in the entire world."
