‘I don’t think his time is up’ – Kenny Miller in Michael Beale defence as he says Rangers can still WIN the league

RANGERS were on the receiving end of their third league defeat in seven games against Aberdeen.

And fans were once again left in the stands to boo their side off the park.

The poor start to the season has piled the pressure on Michael Beale, with most of the Rangers support calling for him to be relieved of his duties.

But Kenny Miller insists now is NOT the time to show the boss the door and believes Beale can even take POSITIVES from their 3-1 defeat.

Speaking to BBC Sportsound, he said: "There have been three losses in seven games and everybody knows that's not good enough. That form is not going to win you the league.

"It's a long way back after this but I don't think his time is up.

"Everybody will understand that the performances and results have not been good enough but there is a healthy injury list there that needs to get addressed.

"I'm sure there next international break can't come quick enough for Michael (Beale) and his medical team.

"Yes they've had four wins on the bounce but that came to a stunning halt yesterday when Aberdeen walked into town.

"Michael's right, you can't be losing these games particularly at home against teams like Aberdeen.

"I agree with what he said in relation to the game, it could've been out of sight in the first ten minutes.

"But when you're not taking the chances you allow Aberdeen to stay in the game.

"When you look over it and analyse that game there will be a lot particularly in that first half that Michael would have liked.

"But he knows exactly what the demands are and the expectations of this club and you need to be winning.

"But I don't think it's time up at this moment."

Rangers' new summer signings have also come under scrutiny since their arrivals but Miller believes the buck stops with the club's hierarchy.

He added: "There are a lot of questions to be answered. I don't think it's just been this summer.

"I think maybe the previous two summers have been a little bit uninspiring as well when you look at what went on last summer.

"Even in Steven Gerrard's time the recruitment drive wasn't particularly great.

"The coming weeks and months are really really crucial for everyone involved at Rangers.

"I don't think there's too much more room for error in the league, but I still think it could be salvaged."

Celtic picked up three points in dramatic fashion away to Motherwell but Miller says the Hoops will drop points in the future, leaving an opportunity for Rangers to close the gap.

He said: "I do believe Celtic will drop more points than what they have done over previous years.

"They're not firing on all cylinders either and they've got their own injury problems.

"When you look at the chances Motherwell created against Celtic yesterday they probably should've got something.

"But the difference at this moment in time is Celtic are getting the job done.

"It is a long way back but there's a lot of football to be played on both fronts so it could still be a really successful season."
