Simon Jordan claims Eddie Howe won’t win big trophies at Newcastle as he likens situation to Mark Hughes at Man City
Eddie Howe's tenure at Newcastle will be similar to that of Mark Hughes during his spell at Manchester City.
That's according to talkSPORT's Simon Jordan, who is unsure if the Magpies boss is the right man to win 'significant things' at the club.

Since his appointment in November 2021, Howe has played a crucial role in Newcastle's emphatic rise in the Premier League.
They finished fourth last season and sealed a return to the Champions League for the first time in 20 years.
A 4-1 win over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday night has proven that they can compete amongst the best.
However, ex-Crystal Palace owner Jordan believes that Howe is a building block in Newcastle's project and may not be able to get them over the line with trophies.

Speaking on White and Jordan, he said: "If the big occasion is the delivery of an outcome for Newcastle with some significant straps, some significant balls, I question that.
"Not because I'm being mean-spirited, but because I think that there will come a point where the opportunity for Newcastle to achieve what we believe, we don't know, but what we believe is the ultimate game-plan from this PIF ownership which is to turn Newcastle into a dominant power force in English and European football.
"I feel that Eddie will do a job that gets you to the point where you're getting close to it, you're getting the Mauricio Pochettino territory of getting a side that gets you there, but can't quite win.
"When a club changes direction and pivots on a sixpence... Howe could not have got his timing better.

"They could have put Genghis Khan in control of Newcastle post-Mike Ashley and the Newcastle fans would have rallied round with this fervour they've got.
"The feeling, the energy, the vitality they've got, you've come in at a perfect time.
"Then you get a group of players playing better and you get £300million to supplement the playing squad.
"I think it feels a little bit, and it may be unkind, it feels a little bit like the Mark Hughes transition from when Sheikh Mansour takes over.
"Hughes starts to buy big players, he starts to build a City side that are really starting their engines.
"Then [Roberto] Mancini says, 'Thank you very much, I'll take it from here', and wins the league.
"That's what I think might happen, I hope I'm wrong, I hope he gets the rewards of the fact that he will be the building block."
Hughes was sacked as City manager 15 months after the club's takeover by Sheikh Mansour in 2008, with Mancini replacing him.

Such a move is one that set the club on their road to success and Jordan believes that the same could happen at Newcastle.
He remarked: "There's going to be this conversation eventually which is, 'What does it take for Newcastle to win the Premier League. What does it take for Newcastle to win the FA Cup?'
"I just think there's a journey that you go through when you're evolving in football clubs, when they go through the transition and very rarely does somebody get to take it all the way along."
Jordan added: "I think he'll have some significant achievements along the way.

"But if the aim is for Newcastle to win significant things, I don't know if it'll be Howe that gets the benefit of that achievement.
"But what he will be is a remarkable pathway for someone else to build upon."
