Ander Herrera was delighted to see former side Manchester United produce a vintage comeback victory over Brentford on Saturday afternoon.

United looked certain to suffer their third home defeat in a week after another dreadful performance that was marred by individual errors and poor performances from key players.

Heading into stoppage time, Mathias Jensen looked to have secured all three points for Brentford with his first-half strike before an incredible late comeback that saw substitute Scott McTominay strike twice to salvage three points for his side.

United's double in 'Fergie time' was a fitting tribute to their legendary manager on a weekend in which the club paid tribute to his late wife, Lady Cathy, following her death earlier in the week.

Sir Alex Ferguson famously oversaw a number of dramatic wins in the final moments of matches during his time in charge of the club, most notable being their incredible comeback win in the 1999 Champions League final.

United's win over Brentford was by no means as glamorous as many of Ferguson's victories, but it was a vital one for under-fire manager Erik ten Hag heading into the international break.

Supporters will be hoping the weekend win can be the catalyst to get their season back on track, and former midfielder Herrera was certainly encouraged by the team spirit he saw.

Replying to a post from United's official Instagram account, the United favourite simply commented, 'United way', in reference to their reputation for winning matches against the odds.

Herrera remains a hugely popular figure amongst United fans and was able to keep a close track on their comeback win as he enjoyed a rare Saturday off after he had started for Athletic Club in their 3-0 win over Almeria on Friday night.
