Watch Kris Boyd & Chris Sutton in furious on-air clash as Celtic icon launches DEFENCE of Rangers ‘good servant’ Goldson

CHRIS SUTTON's addition to Sky Sports' Scottish Premiership coverage has already caused some heated discussions between he and Kris Boyd.

And it was no different when the pair were speaking about Connor Goldson ahead of Rangers' match against St Mirren.

But Sutton was involved in the heated conversation because of his surprising DEFENCE of the Light Blues stopper.

Speaking ahead of the game at Paisley on Sky Sports, Boyd said: "Tavenier, Connor Goldson, Ben Davies. They disappear. The body language on Thursday..."

But Sutton interrupted to unexpectedly defend centre back Goldson.

He said: "That's hard on Connor Goldson. He's been a good servant to Rangers."

Boyd replied: "A good servant? He has won two trophies."

The conversation was back and forth as Sutton added: "Out of the three you have named in my opinion that is harsh on Connor Goldson."

And Boyd interjected: "Wait a minute, you get praise now for being a good servant? James Tavernier has been there for nine (years) and all you do is slaughter him."

Sutton said: "Well, I mean, deservedly so."

Boyd finished the debate by saying: "Tavernier, Goldson, Jack, Barisic they all have over 1000 games for Rangers combined. Two trophies. It just doesn't make sense."

Sutton and Boyd have traded jibes since they started working together at the beginning of the season.
