<p>The 43-year-old is continuing to scratch his competitive sporting itch after swapping the football pitch for the ice rink. Cech – who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/chelsea-cech-departure-advisor-role-boehly-new-era/blt1a5d9303473c638a" target="_blank">left his role as technical director at Chelsea in June 2022</a> – still lives in England and is turning out for local ice hockey side, Oxford City Stars. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Unsurprisingly, he fills the role of goaltender – as a Premier League, Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup-winning keeper in the world of football – and his reflexes remain as sharp as ever. <p>After being bombarded over the course of that contest, Cech’s efforts were rightly recognised with Man of the Match honours. The former Czech Republic international linked up with Oxford in July and said at the time: “I’ve heard good things about the club and looking forward to playing again with some of my ex-team-mates. It’s clear Oxford have big ambitions and I hope I can help them with those.” </p>
