Folarin Balogun puts Troy Deeney alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo when building his ‘perfect striker’

Troy Deeney has been named alongside Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo as Folarin Balogun shared his vision of a 'perfect striker'.
The former Arsenal striker made a £35million switch to Ligue 1 leaders Monaco in the summer after impressing on loan at Reims last season.
He has quickly shown that he has not lost any of last season’s momentum having scored three times in five appearances for Adi Hutter’s high-flyers.
The USA international is carving out an admirable reputation in European football and whilst still being in the early stages of his career, Balogun has clearly done his homework when it comes to studying football’s greatest.
The 22-year-old was asked by ESPN to build his perfect striker using attributes from a host of top names and while the usual suspects were included, one surprising name stood out among them all.
For movement, Balogun opted for former Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United striker Edinson Cavani.
He chose another PSG great in Kylian Mbappe when tasked with choosing speed.
Cristiano Ronaldo was picked for his heading ability while England skipper Harry Kane came out on top for both finishing and link-up play.
His ex-Gunners teammate Bukayo Saka was surprisingly chosen for strength, with Lionel Messi picked for his dribbling ability.
Balogun’s final attribute was work rate and to the surprise of many - and with a smile on his face - opted for former Watford and Birmingham striker Troy Deeney.
Deeney left St Andrew's in the summer and is now a player/coach at League Two club Forest Green Rovers.
He has made a great impression at his new side, having chipped in with four goals and one assist in nine matches.
The 35-year-old recently sent social media into meltdown after listing all the attributes he believes he is better at than Bayern Munich marksman Kane.
