Sitting tenth and 11th in the league table respectively, Manchester United's and Chelsea's starts to the season aren't what fans of the big six clubs would have envisaged prior to the 2023-24 campaign kicking off in August.
United have lost four of their opening eight games, while the Blues have managed just three wins in the same amount of league appearances.
As a result, not only is a finish outside the top four a likely-looking prospect for both teams with each passing game - a bottom half finish in the league table could very well be on the cards.

Man United and Chelsea 6/1 and 7/1 odds respectively to finish in the bottom half of EPL table
For Chelsea, it would mark the second consecutive season they finished 11th or lower - after Raheem Sterling and Co languished in the bottom half of the table (12th) at the conclusion of their 2022-23 campaign for the first time since 1995-96.
Meanwhile for the Red Devils, it would prove to be a new low should they drop out of the top ten after 38 games - with the famed club never finishing lower than seventh in the Premier League era.
With those statistics in mind - for those predicting either club or both to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table in 2023-24 - Manchester United are 7/1 to do so with Sky Bet at the time of writing, while Mauricio Pochettino's side are slightly wider at 6/1.
