Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney tell Billy Sharp 'we're living in this motherf*****s head'
Billy Sharp may be across the Atlantic banging in goals for the LA Galaxy, but Wrexham's American owners haven't forgotten the spat that became headline news last season
It turns out Billy Sharp didn't have the last laugh against Wrexham after all.
More than six months after Sharp's Sheffield United knocked the Welsh outfit out of the FA Cup, Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are still in stitches about the feud that emerged between the two. Sharp - who's since departed Bramall Lane for the LA Galaxy - led a bitter campaign against the then-National League team, bickering with players on-field and saying he was 'glad' to beat them after the fact.
But Hollywood star Reynolds and fellow actor McElhenney were just happy to wind up a member of the opposition with such success. And the pair were still cracking up over the events as they broke down the fourth-round furore in the latest episode of 'Welcome to Wrexham'.

"It was really interesting. It was Psychology 101," said Reynolds while sat on a couch alongside his business partner. "It was like, 'Oh, we own you right now.
"You're a Championship league team, and second place in the Championship, you guys are amazing.' And this guy, we just got under his skin somehow. . .which was so, so wonderful to see that we got under that guy's skin the way we did."
McElhenney struggled to hold back his laughter as he added: "We were living rent free in that mother****er's brain""

Of course, Blades legend Sharp will claim it was he got the better of the pair as Sheffield United won the replay 3-1 at home, having settled for a 3-3 draw at the Racecourse Ground. And it was his injury-time finish that put Sheffield United ahead, advancing to the semi-finals before they were beaten by eventual champions Manchester City.
At the time, Sharp took umbrage with Wrexham discussing a potential showdown with Premier League outfit Tottenham. He also suggested the referee had favoured the lower-league outfit during their match, which landed him a £2,500 fine for being found guilty of improper conduct.

The 37-year-old reopened the war with Reynolds and McElhenney himself last month after scoring a hat-trick for the Galaxy in a 4-3 win over Minnesota United. The new Major League Soccer hit told The Athletic: “If they want to put me in the documentary, go ahead. I think people in Los Angeles probably know me now for scoring goals rather than knocking [Wrexham] out of the FA Cup.
"People don’t even know the real story. Wrexham will put out what they want to on their documentary, and maybe I’ll put out my own and tell them what really happened.”
Sharp versus Wrexham is developing into the football feud fans never knew they wanted as tensions between the two parties don't look set to cool anytime soon. Although one side appears to be laughing harder than the other almost a year after the war first began.
