Gundogan, Mahrez, Palmer - How Man City's summer sales are faring this season
Pep Guardiola sanctioned a number of high-profile Manchester City sales over the summer transfer window as he looked to revamp his squad.
Manchester City experienced a period of major change over the summer as Pep Guardiola looked to revamp his squad for another title challenge.
City made history last season, claiming their first-ever Champions League trophy to complete a brilliant treble. Rodri was the hero in Istanbul as the Blues beat Inter Milan in June, just after they had pipped Manchester United to the FA Cup and Arsenal to the Premier League.
Guardiola was minded to add fresh energy to his squad over the summer as they look to claim a fourth straight league title. But to do so, some players needed to head the other way and City raised over £100million in sales.

The transfer window has now been closed for over a month and MEN Sport has taken a look at how they're all getting on at their respective new clubs.
Ilkay Gundogan - Barcelona
Gundogan joined the La Liga champions as a free agent after turning down a new short-term contract at City. He made his competitive debut in a 0-0 draw at Getafe on the opening weekend of the season and has been a regular starter, registering four assists in 11 appearances across all competitions.
Riyad Mahrez - Al-Ahli
The Algerian joined Al-Ahli in a deal worth £30m at the end of July, signing a three-year deal with the Saudi Pro League side. He has taken to life in the Middle East well, with three goals and four assists in nine appearances alongside the likes of Roberto Firmino, Edouard Mendy and Allan Saint-Maximin.
Cole Palmer - Chelsea
Palmer was a shock deadline-day exit from City after Chelsea proposed a deal worth £42.5m for the 21-year-old. He scored his first-ever Premier League goal from the penalty spot as Chelsea beat Burnley 4-1 last weekend.
Aymeric Laporte - Al-Nassr
Laporte joined Mahrez in heading over to Saudi Arabia, signing a three-year deal with Al-Nassr after City accepted a £25m bid. The centre-back is now playing alongside the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Sadio Mane and Marcelo Brozovic.
Yangel Herrera - Girona
The 25-year-old joined Girona on a permanent basis in the summer, following a successful loan with the La Liga side who are part of the City Football Group network. He has been a regular feature in La Liga's surprise package side, who are currently second with seven wins in nine matches.
Nahuel Bustos - Talleres
The 25-year-old returned to Argentina and the club he began his career with, having failed to make an impact since joining City in 2020.
