Rangers target Philippe Clement ‘has concerns over how short Van Bronckhorst and Beale reigns were’

PHILIPPE CLEMENT wants reassurances that his reign at Ibrox will be long term before agreeing to take over as boss, it's being claimed.
The former Monaco, Genk and Club Brugge boss held talks with the Rangers board this week and is understood to be the leading candidate after impressing during his interview.
Yokohama F. Marinos manager Kevin Muscat is also a front-runner and discussions with the pair are currently ongoing.
The Ibrox board won't rush into a decision and will continue their process over the next few days to ensure they get the appointment right.
James Bisgrove and John Bennet are hopeful they'll get a deal over the line before the end of the international break with their new manager expected to be in the dugout for their match against Hibs in the Scottish Premiership next weekend.
However, their main target Clement is said to be in need of convincing, despite confirming his interest in the role.

The Belgian manager is reportedly cautious over how short term previous gaffers Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Michael Beale's reigns were at Ibrox and he's expressed concerns over this to the board during discussions.
That's according to the Daily Record, who claim the out-of-work boss has made a demand to the Light Blues chiefs and has asked for a long-term contract to ensure stability in the position.
Van Bronckhorst and Beale lasted just 10 months and 12 months respectively at Ibrox and Clement fears he could follow the same path if he takes the job.
Clement was sacked himself after 18 months in charge of Monaco and is still searching for his next role.

Clement also held talks with Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Shabab and reports in the Middle East suggest they're pushing out the boats to snatch him from Rangers' reach.
It's said that Clement will continue to hold out for his long term deal but Rangers are wary of the fact they had to fork out lucrative compensation packages for Van Bronckhorst and Beale as well as their coaches who left.
