The boss is taking his time with the call after being axed just 18 months into his time at Monaco. He has joked about his brief stint in Ligue 1 - which would signal he wants more time to rebuild. He told Belgian outlet Sporza: "Many people also told me afterwards that a year and a half is a long time for a Monaco coach. I also achieved something, right? The recovery from place 7 to 3."

Spending power

A bugbear of the boss from his stint in Ligue 1 appears to be the lack of spending power during his second season in charge. Benoit Badiashile, Sofiane Diop and Aurelien Tchouameni left for Chelsea, Nice and Real Madrid respectively as the headline departures - and Clement has stated his frustration at the lack of recruitment while led to him being axed.

Clement has said: "The power on the transfer market was limited by the Financial Fair Play. In the two markets 120 million came in, but we reinvested much less. Yet the ambitions remained the same with a younger group of players."

Big money was spent by Rangers in the summer - but Michael Beale's recruits have failed to impress. Clement may want the board to dip into the transfer kitty again in January.

Fitness regime overhaul

Clement has been open about his big ideas on fitness that he has learned since leaving Monaco. That could see the board tasked with bringing in specific coaches to fit his needs.

Chat had been swirling that Steven Davis could stay on as the number two having led the club as interim following Michael Beale's sacking. That could change if Clement arrives with his own vision.

On his changes since leaving French football, Clement said: "I used to be relatively fit for a head coach, but still... In our job you eat twice a day at the club from buffets with a lot of carbohydrates and sugars. I have now left that. A healthy mind in a healthy body, What I did this summer will make me even better in the future. These are things that I will also try to incorporate into my next job."
