Everton are set to face competition from West Ham United should a move for Harry Maguire be made during the January transfer window.
The Blues were linked with a move for Maguire in the summer, as were West Ham, though the England international remained at Manchester United after talks with the Hammers broke down.
A latest report has suggested David Moyes' side are set to renew their interest when the transfer window re-opens, ensuring Everton will have to at least match any offer made by the London club.
Staying on the topic of United, the Red Devils have reportedly decided not to sell Everton-linked Scott McTominay in January.
Finally, the Blues' proposed takeover is ongoing. The ECHO will bring all of the latest details that emerge surrounding 777 Partners' deal with Farhad Moshiri.

Kalvin Phillips claims
Following on from TEAMtalk's earlier report, there have been further claims about Kalvin Phillips' future at Manchester City.
Fichajes first state that the defensive midfielder is looking for a route of his current club in search of regular game time. This allegedly comes from 'sources close to the player'.
The other facet of the rumour is that Everton have been labelled as 'the main protagonist' by the Spanish outlet in this unfolding chapter of the saga.

Kalvin Phillips decision
According to TEAMtalk, Kalvin Phillips has a decision to make before the turn of the year.
There will be growing pressure on the defensive midfielder, who hopes to win a place in England's squad for Euro 2024 next summer. It is said Manchester City hope to sign Bayern Munich's Joshua Kimmich next year which would cast his place in Pep Guardiola's plans into further doubt.
According to the report, his options of interested parties that could offer a way out include Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Everton.

West Ham plotting Harry Maguire pursuit
West Ham are reportedly considering a new bid for Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.
The England centre-back was linked with a move to Everton during the summer transfer window as he faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford.
According to ESPN, the Hammers are considering a fresh approach for Maguire.

A milestone for a former Everton goalkeeper
Thomas Myhre turns 50 tomorrow and is remembered as the shot-stopper who had to fill the gloves after Neville Southall.
Thomas Myhre was handed one of football’s impossible jobs when arriving at Goodison Park as he was tasked with replacing Neville Southall but he remains grateful for the way in which the Everton legend supported him.
With two League Championships, two FA Cups and a European Cup-Winners’ Cup plus 751 games under his belt, Southall retains both the records for most trophies won and appearances made as an Everton player but he bowed out in ignominious circumstances for such a giant with the club.
Following a 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on November 29, 1997, a result that left Howard Kendall’s side rooted to the foot of the Premier League table, the Wales international never played for the Blues again.

Nathan Patterson dreaming of Euros qualification
Nathan Patterson will be eagerly watching when Spain take on Norway next week.
Scotland have been made to wait to earn their qualification for the 2024 European Championships in Germany.
The Tartan Army were on the receiving end of a debatable VAR decision which saw Scott McTominay's effort chalked off before Spain went on to win 2-0.
A win for Spain can secure Scotland's qualification as they battle to finish top of the group. But the Everton defender admitted he will switch his allegiance in the hope they can book their place in the Euros.
“Of course I’ll be cheering them on. They got the result on Thursday and hopefully they can go and get another one. They will want to get the result and try to top the group. If they do that then it will go our way as well," he said via the Daily Record.
“I don’t see why they wouldn’t keep getting better. Teams like that want to get to the very top and stay there. Hopefully we can get the results we need and get the win in the next game."
Scotland face France in a friendly on Tuesday.

Pickford set for England start
After being rested for England's recent friendly win over Australia, Jordan Pickford is set to be brought back in to the Three Lions' team for this evening's Euro 2024 qualifier versus Italy.
