Liel Abada sent Celtic future message by Nir Bitton after talks with winger as Green Brigade feud sidelined

Pundits and players in Israel have called for the Israeli international to leave the Scottish champions following the Celtic ultras support for Palestine.

Nir Bitton has insisted Liel Abada will "come back stronger" with Celtic amid calls in Israel for the winger to leave the Parkhead side.

The Scottish Premiership champions issued a statement last week slamming their own supporters for a banner supporting Palestine and criticising Israel for their actions in Middle East. In response, the Green Brigade branded the board 'hypocritical' for their statement that condemned political messages at the stadium.

The comment from the club follows Bitton also launching a furious attack on those displaying the banners while reports suggest that Abada has met with club officials. International teammate Docel Haziza has urged the player to leave the Scottish Premiership champions "immediately" while Israeli football pundit Avishai Sela told the 22-year-old his time in Glasgow's east end was "finished" admitting concerns he would be booed by his own supports.

But despite taking issue with the Hoops support, Bitton does not appear to agree with the calls to leave the club. Abada is currently sidelined with a thigh injury and signed a new four-year deal which will see him remain at Celtic until 2027 earlier this summer.

And Bitton revealed he had been in contact with Abada following the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East. He told the Jewish Times: "He will come back stronger."

He then added: “The war here is not between the Palestinians and the Israelis, but this is a war against a terror organisation which should be publicly condemned by the entire world.”
