The goal came on the stroke of half-time, with Jesus pulling off a stunning Cruyff turn before releasing the ball to Martinelli, who left Sevilla's defenders with no hope before rounding Sevilla goalkeeper Orjan Nyland and stroking home.

Jesus' part in the goal had Gunners fans singing his praises, with the Brazilian pulling off an iconic piece of skill by one of football's greats in Johan Cruyff.

He took two Sevilla players out of contention on his way too, before playing Martinelli through who went on to net on his Champions League debut.

"OH MY JESUS, that Cruyff turn was NUTS," one Arsenal fan said on X, formally known as Twitter.

"I can’t wait to see that Jesus Cruyff turn all over my timeline for the rest of the week," a third fan said.

"That Jesus Cruyff turn to send Martinelli through is absolutely f****** MAGIC," another wrote.

Jesus doubled Arsenal's advantage just after the break to net his third Champions League goal of the season, with Declan Rice grabbing the assist.

The striker drifted into space down the left and shifted the ball onto his right before curling a stunning right-footed strike into the far top corner.

"That's the most world class goal I have ever seen Gabriel Jesus score," one fan said.

Sevilla soon halved the deficit, as Nemanja Gudelj headed home from a corner.

But it was the Gunners that secured all three points, going top of Group B.
