The UEFA Europa League is not the European competition Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to be operating in, but it has handed the German coach the chance to shuffle his pack. Against Toulouse at Anfield on Thursday evening, Klopp handed a debut to teenager defender Luke Chambers who played 67 minutes at left-back. The first-team bow was a dream for the 19-year-old.

Trent Alexander-Arnold captained Liverpool on the night, and the England international recalled his Reds debut seven years ago.
“I saw it was seven years yesterday since it was my debut,” Alexander-Arnold said. “I still know exactly how it feels, that excitement you work so hard for.
“He has put in all the hard work; he has shown himself. He has been outstanding, he has been in and around the team, on and off the pitch.
“He plays amazing football as well, so it is amazing to see him out there. He has great potential.”
Reflecting on the words of praise from his captain, Chambers said: "I have come through the academy. Watching Trent come through it gives us academy lads a stepping stone to try and recreate it.”
