Rob Edwards issues Luton Town injury news as several ruled out for Aston Villa

Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive brings you the injury news from Luton Town ahead of Villa Park visit

Head coach Rob Edwards is contending with some injuries ahead of Luton Town's trip to Aston Villa on Sunday (2pm).

Defender Reece Burke is likely to miss out after starting seven out of Luton's last eight Premier League matches. He was withdrawn with a hamstring injury at Nottingham Forest.

"No, he’s not unfortunately," Edwards said in his press-conference on Friday afternoon. "I’m not sure how long he’ll be, but Sunday will be too soon for Burkey which is a real shame, he’s been doing well for us."

With Burke's injury, it means Luton are light in the defensive department, with Ameri'i Bell, Mads Andersen and Dan Potts all unavailable as well. Bell however, is nearing a return but won't feature on Sunday.

"He’s progressing really well. It was always going to be too soon this one as well, but he’s been out training on the grass, on his own and not with the team yet. He should be available for the next game."

Elsewhere, Edwards has also addressed injuries for midfielders Albert Sambi Lokonga and Jordan Clark. "Sambi is still out and it will be a longer one," he added.

"We can see him and assess him again. "We’ve got lots of different people that can look after him at the moment, so we’re going to try and make sure we’re in control of that as well as much as possible.

"Pottsy and Clicker are the same. Clicker’s doing well and we’ll hopefully be able to see him before the next international break, but [Albert] Sambi and Pottsy are a bit longer than that."
