Manchester United loanee Brandon Williams aims brutal dig at former club Norwich City in deleted post

Manchester United's full-back Brandon Williams is enjoying a good loan spell at Norwich City's rivals Ipswich Town in the Championship

Manchester United loanee Brandon Williams has deleted a post on his Instagram story mocking his former club Norwich City's league position.

Williams spent the 2021/22 season on loan with the Canaries but endured a difficult campaign as the Norfolk club were relegated to the Championship. Upon his return to Old Trafford, the 23-year-old struggled to gain opportunities as Erik ten Hag preferred others ahead of him.

He went on tour with United in pre-season but the decision was made that a loan spell would better suit his development at the time. Fortunately for him, former Reds coach Kieran McKenna was in need of a left-back at Portman Road and an agreement was reached for a loan stint in Suffolk.

Since his arrival at the newly promoted club, Williams has proven his manager right for bringing him to the club. In his last four matches he has played a full 90 minutes and he already has two goals to his name.

Williams is clearly enjoying himself in the East of England with the Tractor Boys sitting second in the table. This is a stark contrast to Norwich who are 17th under the stewardship of David Wagner and are just eight points clear of the relegation zone.

In a controversial move, Williams decided to take to his Instagram story and poke fun at the Canaries' predicament. Posting a picture of him staring into the distance, the full-back wrote: "Me trying to see Norwich in the top half of the table," accompanied with several tractor emojis.

The Ipswich man soon decided he may have gone too far though and has since deleted the post. Williams is sure to get a frosty reception when the Tractor Boys host Norwich on December 16 in the Championship.
