Manchester United in 'three-way battle' for Brøndby IF star and more transfer rumours
Erik ten Hag is seemingly planning for life after Christian Eriksen at Man United and has reportedly send scouts to watch one of his Danish compatriots.
Manchester United are one of three English sides to have sent scouts to watch Brøndby midfielder Nicolai Vallys, according to reports in Denmark.
United remain open to strengthening in central midfield, with Erik ten Hag keen to find successors to the likes of Christian Eriksen and Casemiro. Both will turn 32 in February, with the former set to enter the final 12 months of his contract come summer.
As such, United are planning for life without the Danish international and Ekstra Bladet reports they they are eyeing one of his compatriots. Attacking midfielder Vallys was the hero on Sunday, scoring the winning goal in a 2-1 win against FC Nordsjælland, and scouts were in attendance to track his progress.
Southampton and Aston Villa also sent people over from England, while Wolfsburg, Real Betis, Marseille and PSV Eindhoven were also at the Brøndby Stadion. Vallys has enjoyed an excellent season in Denmark, registering six goals and an assist in 12 appearances.

Elsewhere, Portuguese newspaper Record reports that United also had scouts at the match between Vizela and FC Porto on Sunday.
Porto moved level on points with league leaders Benfica and Sporting, with goals from Mehdi Taremi and Stephen Eustáquio handing them a 2-0 win away from home. United scouts were joined by those from Manchester City at the Estadio do Vizela.
The report does not mention any player who was being scouted, but United were tentatively linked with a move for Taremi over the summer, potentially as a stop-gap signing upfront before they bought Rasmus Hojlund. Eustáquio was also praised by the Portuguese outlet for his excellent performance from central midfield.
