Micah Richards says he missed out on a Premier League medal in 2013/14 because he kicked off at Manuel Pellegrini and was frozen out of the squad.
The former Manchester City defender called it a 'disgrace' when the manager substituted him in a cup match and he was excluded from the squad until he apologised.
That match was against Watford in the FA Cup in January 2014, when City came from 2-0 down to win 4-2 thanks to a Sergio Aguero hat-trick.
Richards was not in the squad for the next two games and only made the bench in one of the next eight, before making the substitutes in the title run-in from April.
'We were playing in the cup. I basically came back from injury and we were playing against a lower-league team at the Etihad,' Richards shared on The Rest is Football podcast.

Micah Richards says Manuel Pellegrini froze him out after a dressing room outburst

His lack of game time meant he did not earn a Premier League winners' medal - even though Pellegrini led them to the title

Richards only apologised to Pellegrini a few weeks after the incident, only managing two Premier League outings that campaign
'In the first half, I've had a stinker, absolute stinker, and we're chasing the game, losing the game, and Pellegrini comes in at half-time and says: "Zabaleta for Micah Richards."
'So I lost my s***. I said: "It's an absolute disgrace, you've got your favourites in the team. I'm effing and jeffing and throwing things around in front of everyone, and after the game he just blanked me... but he blanked me for about three weeks!
'When you get the team list, he wasn't naming me in the squad. I'm asking the physio or the doctor "what's happening", and he said: "you're not getting back in the squad until you go apologise."
'So I had to go to his office and say: "I'm sorry, can I get back in the squad? At this point, I apologised so late I couldn't even get the Premier League. It was all my fault..
While Micah did theoretically have a chance to get back into the team, he spent most of the final eight games on the bench and did not build on his two Premier League appearances he had made in October and November.
As you need to play a minimum of five games to take home a Premier League winner's medal, he was ineligible.
