Gbamin 'very close' to signing for USL Dunkerque
Jean-Philippe Gbamin is 'very close' to signing for USL Dunkerque.
That's according to French publicaton L’Equipe, via Sport Witness, who are reporting that the Ivorian is close to joining the French second tier side until the end of the season.
Everton terminated the final year of the midfielder's contract on transfer deadline day. The 27-year-old joined from Mainz for £25m in 2019 but his spell at the club was wrecked by injuries.
He managed only eight games for the club, including six in the Premier League, and spent last season on loan at Trabzonspor.

Everton Fan Advisory Board launch new initiative
The Everton Fan Advisory Board have revealed they are launching a new initiative ahead of Saturday’s home game against Brighton.
The initiative is part of their plans to improve their communication and engagement with the Everton fanbase.
“Following on from successful fan engagement projects such as a Zoom session to gather questions for 777 and a recent survey regarding Everton’s Fan Engagement Plan, the FAB are aiming to hold in-person, drop-in sessions before every home game, downstairs in St Luke’s Church,” a release from the FAB confirmed.
“Evertonians are invited to take part in informal, ad-hoc discussions with members of the FAB to find out what they do, the progress of ongoing projects, and to discuss any issues that they would like the FAB to raise with the club.”
Communications lead for the FAB, Paul McMonnies said: “When I joined the FAB, one of the key things I was keen to improve was the communication between ourselves and the fans.
"I also wanted to get our faces and voices out there a bit more, so that people realise that the Fan Advisory Board isn’t just some faceless entity - it’s actually made up of 11 Evertonians, with a common goal of trying to make a better Everton.
“These sessions will hopefully give our fellow supporters the chance to see the more human side of the FAB and to ask us directly about how we operate and what we’re working on, as well as how they would like us to best represent their opinions on all things Everton.”

Onana makes Everton transfer admission
Amadou Onana has insisted he is not thinking about a move away from Everton in the January transfer window.
Speaking to Belgium publicaion DH Net, via Sport Witness, the midfielder said: “I grew a lot mentally last season.
“I always fought for trophies or places of honor. The mindset is different, you have to get used to losing almost every weekend. It was hard. The pressure was enormous because there was the weight of the story weighing on our shoulders.
“I would have blamed myself all my life for a club like that to be in the Championship. We were reminded of it daily, so it didn’t come out of my head.
“I’m still learning. Personally, and football-wise. We have to defend, run and suffer more this season. And I take that stuff.
“For the future, I don’t ask myself too many questions. Only my performance will take me where I want. I’m not thinking about leaving in January.”

Written in print by Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport yesterday, Juventus allegedly hope to sign Everton striker Beto in January.

Sean Dyche press conference recap
Everton boss Sean Dyche will be hoping his side can make it four wins from their last five outings this weekend, as they prepare to take on Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League.
Looking to follow up their impressive 3-0 win over Burnley in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, the Toffees look to be boasting a full bill of health heading into the clash with Roberto De Zerbi's side. Current absentees Seamus Coleman, Dele Alli and Andre Gomes are all still closing in on their individual returns to full fitness.
The Seagulls themselves have endured an up-and-down start to the season, with their most impressive result a 3-1 away win at Manchester United back in September, although they were beaten 6-1 by high-flyers Aston Villa at Villa Park just over a month ago.
Dyche spoke on a range of different topics at Finch Farm earlier this afternoon, from Arnaut Danjuma's form to the impressive business conducted by Brighton in the transfer market over the last few years. Scroll down to read exactly what Dyche had to say to the media...
