Cameron Archer continues to impress in the Premier League following his exit from Aston Villa.

The 21-year-old made the permanent move to Bramall Lane in the summer after the Blades paid a fee of £18.5million. However, Villa do have a buy-back clause as part of the deal.


Following the injury to Oli McBurnie, Archer has tasked with leading the line for the Blades. He has so far scored twice in nine appearances.

He was on the scoresheet in the Blades' controversial 2-1 win over Wolves. His form during the season is certainly something Villa will be alert to.

Villa boss Unai Emery certainly has a plan for the youngsters. He previously said: "Young players are very important for us. And we have to make a plan for them.

"In the past, present and the future and we don’t want to stop their career. When we are thinking they are not going to have a lot of chances to play, to keep confident and keep minutes, another plan is to let them go and play in other teams. Sometimes on loan, sometimes sell. But always trying to keep the possibility of getting them again for us in the near future. That is the idea we have with different players."

Archer's response to the task at hand has certainly pleased Heckingbottom. "Cameron’s been leading the line now after not having a big pre-season, very very well," he said last week. I’ve been really pleased with how he’s approached what we’re asking him to do."
