Borussia Dortmund look set to be without former Liverpool midfielder Emre Can for the clash with Newcastle United in midweek. The Magpies head to The Signal Iduna Stadium looking for their second win of the Champions League group stages.
The Bundesliga outfit ran out 1-0 winners at St. James' Park to condemn Eddie Howe's side to their first defeat in this season's Champions League group of death. Edin Terzic's side were well worth the three points but were dealt a blow when Can was taken off the field of play with an injury.
The German international damaged his hip in the win over the Magpies, but has not featured since then. He sat out of the 4-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in their last outing and his experience will be missed in the heart of midfield.

Former Manchester United midfielder Marcel Sabitzer recovered from injury to run the midfield alongside Felix Nmecha at St. James' Park last month and you would expect Terzic to stick with that midfield duo on Tuesday night. It was the latter of the duo who scored the only goal of the game and impressed the black and white faithful having been a reported target in the summer.
BVB will also be without Mateu Morey, Julien Duranville and Antonios Papadopoulos for their penultimate home game of the group stages. Newcastle have plenty of injury concerns of their own heading to the second placed side in the group.
Alexander Isak, Sven Botman, Harvey Barnes, Dan Burn, Elliot Anderson, Jacob Murphy and Matt Targett are all expected to miss the game while Sandro Tonali is banned from football for ten months.
Predicted Borussia Dortmund starting XI: Kobel; Wolf, Hummels, Schlotterbeck, Ryerson; Sabitzer, Nmecha, Reus; Gittens, Malen, Fullkrug.
