New boss Clement is assessing his squad as he looks to build on a six-game unbeaten start against Livingston tomorrow at noon.

Jack, who signed from Aberdeen in 2017, admits he’d love the Belgian to keep him on.

The 31-year-old Scotland cap said: “You want to be at the top for as long as possible.

“There will probably be a chat, but I wouldn’t imagine that will be any time soon.

“Maybe after Christmas and the New Year we’ll see where we’re at.

“We’ll see what the club’s vision is for next season and the season after and we’ll take it from there.

“I’m quite relaxed about it. I was in the same situation last year.

“I love playing for the club and you want to stay at the top as long as you can. We’ll see what happens.”

Jack played alongside John Lundstram in Thursday’s 2-1 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.

The English midfielder is also out of contract in the summer, but the pair could team up again this afternoon at the Tony Macaroni Arena.

Jack added: “Since John came here I’ve got on really well with him. He’s a top guy.

“This season he’s maybe had ups and downs, like us all.

“But since the new manager has come in you can see, stride by stride, his performances get better.

“He’s a big leader in the changing room and a big part of the squad.

“He loves playing here, so I’m sure at some point the club will sit down with John too.

“But at the moment we all just need to focus on winning games.

“When the club wants to sit down with us then that will happen.”
