It's getting to that time of the season once again where players are starting to near a potential suspension due to their yellow card tally. It means some teams are set to miss some key players during a run of games that comes thick and fast before the number of cards for a ban increases.

The current laws dictate that once a player reaches five yellow cards in the Premier League, they will face a one-match ban and that ruling sticks around until the halfway mark. After 19 games have passed, that tally then increases to ten, with players hitting double figures set to miss two games.

Arsenal will be hopeful of avoiding such a fate as they need every squad player available if they are to make a push for the Premier League title, Champions League and FA Cup. That's even more prevalent in a campaign that is currently handing the north London side a few injury troubles.

Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Ben White and Cedric Soares all missed the most recent clash with Burnley. With fewer options at his disposal, Mikel Arteta will be keen for his side to make any unnecessary moves to be unavailable for upcoming clashes.

There's already one suspension for three games as Fabio Vieira was given a straight red card against the Clarets and only adds to the selection dilemma. With others nearing a suspension for yellow cards, here's a look at all the stars that are walking a disciplinary tightrope.

One booking away

The only player incredibly close to a possible suspension is Kai Havertz, with the incoming midfielder already picking up four cautions this season. One more booking would see the German international banned for a match, meaning Arteta won't be keen for him to repeat that tackle at Newcastle any time soon...

Three bookings away

Fortunately for Arsenal, their discipline has been good this season and as a result, only a few players are even slightly close to a suspension. Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah and Ben White are all three yellow cards away from a ban, with seven more games to go before the yellow tally hits ten.
