Ross McCausland's Rangers form earns instant reward as Ibrox starlet handed first full Northern Ireland call up
The winger will make the step up from the Under 21s to Michael O'Neill's first team for their upcoming Euro qualifiers.
Rangers youngster Ross McCausland’s dream rise has continued as he has been called up to the full Northern Ireland squad.
The Ibrox youngster will step up from the under-21s to Michael O’Neill’s full team for the Euro 2024 qualifiers away to Finland and then at home to Denmark. The 20-year-old had been selected for Northern Ireland’s under-21 clash with England but will Record Sport understands he will now step up. Northern Ireland take on the Finns on Friday and then entertain the Danes on Monday.
McCausland broke into the Rangers team under caretaker and fellow Northern Irishman Steven Davis and has kept his place in the first-team under Philippe Clement. The winger’s form has been impressive and he was handed his first start against Livingston at the weekend and VAR cost him his first senior goal. Rangers are also in talks with McCausland over a new deal, with his existing contract up in the summer. The Ibrox side have tabled terms over a deal until 2027.
