Gabby Agbonlahor makes Aston Villa claim as Gareth Southgate sent Jacob Ramsey plea
Latest Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive as Gabby Agbonlahor has his say on Ezri Konsa's England call up
Gabby Agbonlahor believes England boss Gareth Southgate should start to pick more Aston Villa players after Ezri Konsa's call-up to the Three Lions squad.
Konsa has joined Villans teammate Ollie Watkins in Southgate's latest squad for the Euro 2024 qualifiers against Malta and North Macedonia during the current international break.
And former Villa striker Agbonlahor believes it is only a matter of time before Jacob Ramsey joins up with Watkins and Konsa on international duty when he returns to full fitness. He is also full of praise for Konsa who he believes is a better player than AC Milan's Fikayo Tomori and Crystal Palace's Marc Guehi who have also been called up.

"It's been coming," he told talkSPORT. "All the Villa fans have been shouting for Konsa and I feel that sometimes Southgate waits for teams to be in the top five/ top six, and now Villa are in the top five.
"Konsa has been outstanding. He's quick, he's strong, good in the air, but he's also very good at coming out with the ball. His passing is top.
"For me he's better than Tomori for AC Milan, he's better than Guehi from Crystal Palace and sometimes you've got to think if you're Southgate, you're looking at someone playing in Serie A, which is not as competitive as the Premier League. You've got someone like Konsa in a fifth placed team, Aston Villa, who are flying and playing outstanding football.
"He's got to start picking more Villa players when Jacob Ramsey gets fit again, come and watch him more. He's another one that will break into that squad. So I'm happy for Konsa and England fans won't be disappointed."
