Mohamed Elyounoussi has handed Celtic a shoutout as he returns to Glasgow alongside former Hoops defender Kris Ajer.

The Norwegian duo will face off against Scotland on Sunday at Hampden, as Euro 2024 qualifying comes to a close for both nations. But while the Scandinavians are staying home after a lacklustre campaign, Steve Clarke's men are heading for Germany after a blistering start to qualification inspired progression to next year's tournament.

Elyounoussi spent two seasons on loan in Glasgow from Southampton under Neil Lennon, where he won every major trophy on offer in Scotland. The Norwegian national team's Twitter account shared a snap of the ex-Celtic pair touching down at the airport ahead of matchday, and the winger shared it with the caption "boys are back in town." A green love heart and Ajer's social media handle was inserted alongside it in a clear nod to the pair's Celtic days together.

After joining from Start in 2016 and enjoying a loan spell at Kilmarnock, Ajer won three Premiership titles and six domestic trophies. He left in 2021 for Brentford in a deal claimed to be worth around £13.5m
