Former Wolves captain Conor Coady has revealed how his old Everton teammates will be feeling after they were docked 10 points by the Premier League.

The Toffees have been slapped with the punishment after they were found to have breached profit and sustainability rules, a situation that could get worse as they are also subject to compensation claims from Leicester City. Leeds United and Burnley.

Liverpool-born Coady, who spent last season on loan at Everton but is now at Leicester City, was asked how his former colleagues would be reacting to the news.

"They've had a good start to the season, they are playing well and I don't think it will affect them as a team. I'm sure they'll be looking at it now to kick on with the game after the international break."

He added: "It's hard to say because I don't know the ins and outs of it, to be honest. As a footballer, you don't really look what's going on at clubs upstairs or whatever it is.

"As players you get on with it and I'm sure the Everton players will be doing that now. It is what it is, it's out and I'm sure they're dealing with it in the right way."
