AI names world's top 12 most famous WAGs – and it could spark new Wagatha Christie row
The sport of football is held together by fans, money and talented players – but perhaps an unsung aspect of the sport is the truly glamorous WAGs who emerge and support their partners
The emergence of WAGs in football was more recent than you think.
It was only in 2006 when the term became global after the wives and girlfriends of the England national team were referred to as WAGs during the World Cup. The likes of Victoria Beckham, and Cheryl Tweedy (previously Cole) were subject to an increasing amount of coverage from media.
It's since taken on a world of its own as the partners of football players are firmly in the spotlight. AI supercomputer ChatGPT named who it believes is the top 12 most famous football WAGs in the world which could begin to brew a new Wagatha Christie row due to Coleen Rooney's inclusion on the list while Rebekah Vardy couldn't crack the top 12.

The pair have been bitter rivals since Vardy, wife of Leicester striker Jamie Vardy, sued Rooney for defamation after she had been accused of leaking three fake stories from Rooney’s private Instagram account to a newspaper. The case was put to an end last year when the TV personality lost her libel case against Rooney.
