England head into their final match of Euro 2024 qualifying on Monday night, already secure of their place in next summer's tournament in Germany, and having secured top spot in Group C with their 2-0 win over Malta on Friday night.

An early own goal and a Harry Kane second half strike gave Gareth Southgate's side victory, which all but sealed England's place in Pot 1 of next month's group stage draw, earned by having one of the best five records in qualifying, and can be confirmed with a point tonight.

The Three Lions have won six of their seven qualifiers so far, only dropping points by drawing their away match against Ukraine, which leaves them fifth in the overall qualifying ranking.

The only the only sides who can still overtake England into Pot 1 are Turkey and Denmark, though each would require a three point and 11 and 12 goal swing respectively to oust England of a top seeding.

Tonight's opponents, North Macedonia, have already had their fate sealed ahead of tonight's match, as they sit six points behind Italy and Ukraine in the battle for the second qualifying spot, with just one match left to play.

Blagoja Milevski's side have picked up just seven points from their seven qualifying matches so far, six of which have come by doing the double over Malta, and Friday night's 5-2 defeat to Italy means they have won just one of their last six competitive matches.

England have never tasted defeat in their five previous matches against North Macedonia, and have won on both of their previous visits to the Balkan nation, most recently in 2006.

The last time the two nations met came in Manchester in June earlier this year, in which Bukayo Saka scored a hat trick en route to a 7-0 victory for Southgate's side.
