Ex-Premier League star Alexis Sanchez fumes over poo that seeped into showers
Former Arsenal star and Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez was forced to endure the stench of excrement when trying to take a shower after Chile's draw against Paraguay
Ex-Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez was horrified after poo appeared when when he and his Chile team-mates were attempting to take a shower.
The stinky situation occurred after his nation's 0-0 draw with Paraguay on Friday (November 17). It was a frustrating result for the home side in their quest to qualify for the 2026 World Cup as they now sit seventh in the CONMEBOL qualification table.
As if the night couldn't get worse for Sanchez and his team-mates, when getting ready to take showers after the game, poo began trickling out of the drain. The 34-year-old explained the filthy matter as he said: "At the Colo-Colo stadium I was sitting stretching and excrement from ourselves in the shower came out of the drain."

The appearance of excrement certainly capped off a forgettable night for Chile's all-time top scorer as their attempts to qualify for their first World Cup since 2014 doesn't look too promising.
La Roja have won just one of their opening five qualifiers when they defeated Peru 2-0 last month. With upcoming fixtures against Brazil and Argentina, Chile will need to massively step up their game in what could be Sanchez's last opportunity to represent his country at a World Cup.

Sanchez became an Arsenal hero in his four years at the club where he scored 80 goals in 166 games. He controversially left for Manchester United in 2018 but later admitted he was close to joining Man City but was swayed by then-United manager, Jose Mourinho.
"I was about to go to City," he said to Santiago-based daily newspaper La Tercera. "I spoke to Guardiola every day, he told me happy birthday. He was like my dad. He was my dad at Barcelona and he was like my dad at City.
"We talked, we talked every day, he sent me messages. And everything was ready, there was a player who was going to go to Arsenal. Then Wenger tells me you are not leaving because the other player did not want to come and they do not have another.
"Suddenly the cell phone rings. Mourinho tells me: 'Alexis, here is the seven [shirt] available for you."
