Newcastle United defender is outperforming Fernandes, Maddison, Szoboszlai and Ward-Prowse
The Newcastle United star man is leading the way in the Premier League
Newcastle United defender Kieran Trippier is leading the way in the Premier League for most chances created so far this season. The Magpies defender has been a revelation since making the move to St. James' Park from La Liga side Atletico Madrid back in January 2022.
A regular in Eddie Howe's starting XI since then, the England international helped keep Newcastle in the top-flight during his first season at the club, before helping them secure a top-four finish last season.
Trippier has not only helped shore up one of the worst defences in the Premier League, but his output at the opposite end of the pitch makes him such an important cog in Howe's Magpies machine.

The 33-year-old defender currently leads the way for most chances created in the Premier League with 33 to his name. That puts him ahead some of the most creative players in the top flight, who play in more naturally offensive positions.
Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes is in second place, according to Amazon Prime Video Sport, with 32 chances created, while Tottenham Hotspur's James Maddison is in third place having created 31 chances.
Liverpool's Dominik Szoboszlai is in fourth place having created 28 chances, with West Ham United's James Ward-Prowse level with him having also made 28 chances.
Trippier's importance to the current Newcastle side needs no lengthy explanation, but those recent stats only emphasize the Magpies defender is showing no sign of slowing down, nor does he need replacing.
The longer-term predicament for Howe and his squad will be finding or nurturing another player into the same mould as the England international, to help the Magpies style of play flourish. Tino Livramento has shown promising early signs after signing from Southampton in the summer.
