Fans rejoice as Ferdinand and Savage swapped with Ally McCoist for Man Utd commentary

Football fans were over the moon to hear Ally McCoist on co-comms for TNT Sport after fans blasted Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savage's commentary in the Champions League

Football fans have rejoiced that TNT Sports elected to have Ally McCoist as a co-commentator for Manchester United's clash with Newcastle on Saturday evening.

United's Champions League clash with Galatasaray had drawn criticism from football fans due to Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savage's commentary. The pair were accused of being biased in their roles, with one cheeky fan joking he thought he was watching MUTV.


And when United were back on our screens on Saturday evening, football fans were overjoyed to hear McCoist. One fan said on social media: "Listening to Ally Mccoist is so refreshing compared to Ferdinand and Savage!"

United travelled to St James' Park on Saturday evening following the huge European disappointment on Wednesday. Erik ten Hag's side threw away a two-goal lead against the Turkish giants, leaving them bottom of Group A, one point behind Galatasaray.

United now have to beat Bayern Munich on the final matchday if they want to continue their European journey. Amazingly, a draw between Copenhagen and Galatasaray could see United reach the knockout rounds of the Champions League.
