Serge Gnabry's failure at Arsenal: Ex team-mate details where it went wrong for Bayern Munich star
Former Arsenal ace Serge Gnabry failed to make the grade with the Gunners but will once again return to the Emirates Stadium with Bayern Munich for Tuesday night's Champions League showdown
Serge Gnabry returns to Arsenal on Tuesday night with Bayern Munich, looking to remind the Gunners what they missed out on.
Gnabry was once tipped for big things in north London. Arsenal fans will remember his first goal away at Swansea and probably expected it to be the first of many. Instead, it was his last.
The Germany international would make just 18 first-team appearances, before he was eventually sold to Werder Bremen. Ahead of that transfer however came a now infamous loan spell at West Bromwich Albion. Now 28, he has put those disappointing times firmly behind him, with a plethora of major honours to his name during a stellar stint at the Allianz Arena.
But former team-mate Lukas Podolski insists things could have been very different during his time at Arsenal.

"Serge can shoot with both feet, and he is powerful and quick – a bit like me, only I don't have a right foot like him! I'm really pleased that he's doing well at Bayern."
In his six years on the books with the Bavarians, Gnabry has won five Bundesliga titles, two DFB-Pokals, three DFB Super Cups, one Champions League, one UEFA Super Cup and one FIFA Club World Cup.
And he even managed to endear himself to Arsenal fans while playing for Bayern back in 2019, when he put four past the Gunners' local rivals Tottenham during a 7-2 Champions League thrashing.
On Tuesday night, it is his former club whom he has in his sights instead.
