Musa Toure is Hibs transfer 'target' as Nick Montgomery plans January raid on A League for Adelaide forward

Toure is out of contract at the end of the season and Montgomery knows him from his time in charge of Central Coast Mariners.

Musa Toure

Musa Toure is a transfer target for Hibs this January, according to a report.

New boss Nick Montgomery has had to be patient as he waits to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited from Lee Johnson. The Hibees have seen an upturn in form under the former Central Coast Mariners boss and are unbeaten in six league games. And he could be set to turn to what he knows when it comes to recruitment with the Adelaide United forward under consideration.

FTBL report that Hibs are keen on the 18-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the season. Toure has made just six appearances so far this term, all of them as a substitute and is understood to be keen to move abroad when his Adelaide deal expires. He would add more pace to a frontline that already heavily relies on Socceroo Martin Boyle for speed. He and compatriots Lewis Miller and Jimmy Jeggo would make any settling in period a touch easier, however.

If a deal happens, fans will be hoping Toure has more of an impact in the capital than the last Aussie teen to make the move. Garang Kuol spent the second part of last season on loan across the city at Hearts.

He joined from Newcastle United in January amidst much fanfare. But Kuol struggled to hold down a regular first team place under Robbie Neilson or replacement Steven Naismith, and scored just once in maroon.
