There were some excellent performances among Tottenham's group of loan players currently out across England and Europe will decisions will have to be made about others.
Spurs have got eight players from their squad spread out at clubs across the Premier League, Football League, Turkey, Germany and the Netherlands, all of them trying to either impress those Tottenham staff watching on and reporting back to Ange Postecoglou or attempting to catch the eye of new clubs for future transfer windows. Some of them have had their loan spells fragmented by frustrating injuries while others have just not got the game time they expected.
Here's how Tottenham's eight loan players fared over the past week.
Troy Parrott (Excelsior Rotterdam)
Troy Parrott continues to make a splash in the Eredivisie and he added another excellent goal to his collection on Friday night in Excelsior Rotterdam's 4-2 defeat at Twente.
The 21-year-old scored the opening goal of the match in the ninth minute, controlling a ball superbly on the run before launching a left-footed finish across the goalkeeper and inside the right-hand post.
The Republic of Ireland international now has two goals and two assists in his past four starts and five goals and two assists in his past 10 matches, having started the season on the bench before earning his place in the starting line-up since the beginning of November.
All eyes will be on what happens next with Parrott as he continues to catch the eye in the Netherlands. His contract with Tottenham runs until 2025 and he and the club will have to make a decision on what comes next for him in the summer. That he holds an Irish, so EU, passport could aid him in moving to another foreign club if that's what the future holds.

Joe Rodon (Leeds United)
Joe Rodon continues to play a big part in Leeds United's promotion bid as he was their star player in the 2-0 win at Blackburn.
The 26-year-old was named as Leeds Live's man of the match with a score of eight in their player ratings after the game with the review: "Tremendous. Whenever Blackburn did use their pressure to cause chaos in the final third, it was so often the Wales international who mopped up."
The Welshman has been a shining light in the backline for Leeds as a rock in Daniel Farke's defence as they sit third in the Championship table, having lost just three games from their 20 this season. The club's fans have been calling for Rodon to be signed permanently.
Djed Spence (Leeds United)
Djed Spence also received praise after playing his first minutes since September as he came off the bench for Leeds for the final 20 minutes at left-back against Blackburn.
The right-back was an unused sub for both of the matches against Swansea and Middlesbrough after eight weeks out with a knee injury and has returned to face a fight for a spot in the team because of the recent impressive performances of 17-year-old midfielder Archie Gray, who has shown himself to be adaptable in the right-back role.
Spence finally made his return on Saturday on the other flank and he got a seven in Leeds Live's player ratings with the words: "Quickly showed class and judgement. Drove well from deep in his unfavoured position."
The 23-year-old had a chat with boss Daniel Farke after the game on the pitch and the Leeds boss said on the Spurs man: "He came in at a crucial period of the game and we were able to return back to the dressing room with a 2-0 win so we can't blame him too much for the final 20 minutes.
"It is always tricky when you come on at such a crucial period when it is the first time you have been involved in months. You are already under a bit of pressure because Blackburn tried everything to turn the game.
"He looked really rock solid in terms of closing the line in duels and he had some good situations going forward. Yes, sometimes in transition moments he could run a bit quicker back. There were one or two situations where I feel he could have invested a bit more but this is quite normal as it was his first game in months. Overall, it was important for him to grab the minutes and we are all happy to have him as an option."
On that chat on the pitch after the final whistle, Fark added: "Sometimes I need to get it off my chest, but when it's not too far away I can give this message early enough because the players also have this situation in their heads.
"It's not a deep analysis. It is more to give one or two messages that they can think about before we analyse the game a day after. I'm not a coach who loves to analyse a game straight away for too long in the dressing room because after a game no player is really interested in getting too many messages. They want to celebrate or, in a bad case, be down so they don't want to hear too many words.
"We normally do it the day after a game but, sometimes, when there are little situations, I try to get messages across so I don't forget them."
Tanguy Ndombele (Galatasaray)
After two starts in a row and then a substitute appearance, Tanguy Ndombele was left unused on the bench as Galatasaray won 3-1 at home against Adana Demirspor on Friday.
Things had been on the up for the 26-year-old last month after Turkish media outlet Milliyet reported that Ndombele had a positive 'special meeting' with head coach Okan Buruk during the international break and put in extra work on the training pitches during that period.
The outlet reported that Ndombele "appeared extremely enthusiastic in training and his performance was increasing day by day". That came after a previous groin injury and a reported fallout with Buruk over a spot of junk food.
However, the Frenchman missed out on game time again this week and that means he has played just 280 minutes across 10 appearances since arriving in Turkey.
Sergio Reguilon (Manchester United)
Reguilon found himself back in the action with Manchester United's double bill this week against Chelsea and Bournemouth. The Spaniard came on at half-time for the 2-1 win against the Blues, replacing Victor Lindelof and then he played the full 90 minutes as the Cherries shocked United to win 3-0 at Old Trafford.
He picked up a seven in the Manchester Evening News player ratings for the game against Chelsea with the review: "Conversed regularly with Erik ten Hag as he collaborated with Garnacho. United targeted Chelsea's right-hand side and it worked."
However, Reguilon only got a four after the dreadful result against Bournemouth with the review: "Proactive but seldom incisive in the final third until early in the second half. Defensively non-existent."
Japhet Tanganga (Augsburg)
Another match has come and gone without Japhet Tanganga being named in Augsburg's squad following his recovery from his knee injury.
The Tottenham defender has been tipped by German media outlet Kicker for a January recall. The outlet suggests that the Bundesliga side are looking to reduce the size of their squad from the current 32 players. New coach Jess Thorup has switched to a back four and that has left six centre-backs fighting for two spots, meaning the only recently-returned Tanganga has been left outside the matchday squads despite reports that he has been training well.
Tanganga's only game time this season has been a 45-minute stint during the international break against SSV Jahn Regensburg in a behind-closed-doors friendly.
Dane Scarlett (Ipswich Town)
One Spurs player who cannot get sent out on another loan this season is Dane Scarlett. The 19-year-old was an unused substitute again on Saturday as high-flying Ipswich won 2-0 at Middlesbrough to remain just a point behind Championship leaders Leicester City.
The teenager could technically be recalled by Tottenham in January if Ange Postecoglou felt he was better served by being with his squad but he cannot go back out on loan elsewhere because his appearance in the Carabao Cup in August means he has already played for the maximum of two clubs this season.
Scarlett may just have to bide his time at Ipswich and hope for an injury or two to others, or a drop in form for them, and then grab his chance because the pathway is equally busy at Spurs.
Alfie Devine (Port Vale)
Alfie Devine missed Port Vale's 1-0 win at Exeter in League One on Saturday with the same injury that saw him sit out the FA Cup draw at Stevenage with team-mate Ollie Arblaster.
In an interview with the Daily Mail this month, the 19-year-old spoke about his chat with Postecoglou in the summer.
"I'm loving every bit of it at the moment," Devine said. "Obviously there was the manager change with Ange Postecoglou coming in and he wanted to have a look at every player.
"I had a good chat with him at the start of pre-season and the decision was made between everyone that it was probably best for me to go out on loan this season. It was the right time to go out.
"All the boys and all the staff at Vale have made me feel very welcome and I've really settled into the group. The staff at Tottenham are checking in all the time. I've had good feedback."
