Loris Karius' partner makes admission over Newcastle future
Newcastle United goalkeeper Loris Karius' partner Diletta Leotta has reiterated her desire for the former Germany youth international to make a move to Italy.
Karius currently splits his time between Newcastle and Italian TV presenter Leotta's homeland, where she lives with the couple's daughter and is under contract at St James' Park until the end of this season.
“I hope so," Leotta told Gazzetta Dello Sport when asked if an Italian club could try and sign Karius in January. "He has another year on his contract and is doing well at Newcastle, but anyone who does this job always has their suitcase packed.
"I would understand any move, but I hope he can be brought closer. He takes a lot of flights. As soon as he has a day he leaves and even comes for just 24 hours.”

Valencia goalkeeper linked with Newcastle
Newcastle United are one of three Premier League clubs interested in Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili. That is according to Spanish publication Fichajes who claim Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested in the Georgia international.
The report claims the 23-year-old has emerged as an option for all three clubs as Newcastle and Tottenham look for reliable competition for Nick Pope and Guglielmo Vicario respectively, while the Red Devils are looking at alternatives to Andre Onana who has struggled since joining from Inter Milan in the summer.
Mamardashvili joined Valencia in 2021 from Dinamo Tbilisi and has proven to be an excellent goalkeper in La Liga. He is under contract at the Mestalla Stadium until the summer of 2027 but the Spanish clubs financial worries could see them listen to offers at the right price.
