Rangers in three-horse race for Premier League star – with parent club set to recall him from early season loan

RANGERS are one of three teams tracking Everton star Mason Holgate with the Toffees set to recall him from his loan spell at Southampton.
The 27-year-old has made just five appearances for the Saints since his season-long move in August.
The Toffees defender made his last outing in a man-of-the-match display against West Brom last month.
But SunSport understands Everton want the versatile star, who can play in defence or midfield, to be playing more regularly.
And with the Merseysiders considering terminating his stay on the south coast and allow him to find a new club in January - the Gers could be poised to swoop.
Philippe Clement is determined to correct what he calls an 'imbalance' in his squad - where they have many similar attackers.

Holgate is under contract at Goodison until 2025 and a short term loan could make sense for both parties.
Championship duo Middlesbrough and Watford are also thought to be monitoring the situation as Sean Dyche ponders a reacll.
The former England Under-21 centre-back Holgate has played just 289 minutes of first-team action for Southampton.
Saints boss Russell Martin, whose side are fourth in the Championship, has lined up Jan Bednarek and Taylor Harwood-Bellis at the heart of his defence.
