Wim Jansen's family to get Celtic red carpet treatment as legend's son blown away by classy Champions League invite
Celtic will honour the Parkhead and Feyenoord legend by inviting his family to the clash as VIP guests.
The family of former Celtic and Feyenoord great Wim Jansen will be honoured as VIP guests at Wednesday's Champions League clash between the two clubs.
Record Sport can reveal Jansen's wife and two kids have been handed directors box seats after contacting the club to ask if there were any spare tickets available for the final Group A clash between the sides. But Celtic immediately rolled out the red carpet for widow Cobie, daughter Petra and son Wim Jr who have been left gobsmacked by the generosity they have received as a mark of respect and gratitude to the title winning boss who passed away last year, aged 75.
Wim Jr said: "What Celtic are doing for this family is above and beyond what any of us could have expected. I don't think it's normal. I just asked for a few tickets and would have been happy to pay for them because we enjoy watching the big games at Celtic Park. We would have been happy to sit in any seats they could give us, anywhere in the stadium.
"But they have invited us to attend the match, to join them in the boardroom before the game and then to sit in the directors' box. They are giving us the VIP treatment. In our opinion the way they continue to honour my dad's achievements is simply incredible and it means so much to all the family to know he is so fondly remembered."
