Micah Hamilton says Man City debut is 'just the start' and makes selection admission
Academy graduate Micah Hamilton scored on his Manchester City debut against Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League.
Micah Hamilton says his electric Manchester City debut is just the start, as he outlined how his brilliant performance was all the more impressive as he was playing out of position.
Hamilton has twice made Pep Guardiola's bench this season, and finally got on the pitch for a debut from the start as City took on Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade. With City safely qualified, Hamilton's inclusion was one of nine changes to Guardiola's side, and he only needed 19 minutes to fire in his first senior goal on his debut start.
The winger's impressive performance was capped by winning a late penalty, converted by Kalvin Phillips, which turned out to be decisive as City edged a 3-2 win in Serbia. Reflecting on his dream debut, Hamilton said he was still to let his goal sink in, adding that it was even more special to share the pitch with three academy teammates.

"I don’t even know how to put it into words to be honest – it’s all surreal," he said. "The game obviously; the goal, everyone has seen that, I didn’t even know what to do. He [Guardiola] put me on the right wing, something different for me. I’d not really played there. I saw it as a challenge and I took it and I enjoyed every moment.
"I played with Oscar [Bobb] last season in the under-21s, a top player, I grew up with Rico [Lewis] from when I was literally this small. [Mahamadou] Susoho as well who made his debut [is] playing in the 21s now. The manager has given us the opportunity in training and in the game today. Playing with the best players you always improve.
"It's definitely just the start… and to kick on from here. It’s not bad. It’s all surreal, it’s not sunk in yet. Everyone at home will be watching it."
