Liverpool line-ups for Union SG as Ben Doak and Kaide Gordon unleashed
Liverpool predicted line-ups for their Europa League clash at Union Saint-Gilloise on Thursday night
Paul Gorst - "Liverpool supporters might want to bring their boots"
With six first-team players out injured and a further four left at home, Liverpool supporters might want to bring their boots for this one against Union Saint-Gilloise.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has already hinted at changes both with the squad he has taken and verbally in his pre-match press conference, and it will be about damage limitation this evening from a fitness point of view with that huge game with Manchester United to come on Sunday.
Caoimhin Kelleher starts in goal behind a back four of Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah, Joe Gomez and Luke Chambers.

Wataru Endo once more starts at the base of the midfield with Harvey Elliott further forward alongside Curtis Jones, who just gets the nod over Ryan Gravenberch.
Up top, Ben Doak can start on the right and there might even be some potential minutes for Kaide Gordon on that side as the game wears on. Cody Gakpo can play off the left and Darwin Nunez can start through the middle with a view to getting a senior debut to Lewis Koumas at some stage.
My team (4-3-3): Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Gomez, Chambers; Endo, Elliott, Jones; Doak, Nunez, Gakpo.
Theo Squires - "I'm all for seeing what the kids can do"
With absolutely nothing riding on Thursday’s trip to Belgium for Liverpool, I’m all for seeing what the kids can do against Union SG.
Conor Bradley would have featured a lot more prominently so far this season if not for injury, so he starts at right-back as he looks to make up for lost time. Jarell Quansah keeps his place, with Joe Gomez captaining an inexperienced side alongside him, and Luke Chambers completing the back four in front of Caoimhin Kelleher.
Having won the game from the bench away at Crystal Palace on Saturday, both Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones can come into the starting XI for this one. James McConnell gets a full debut as the Reds’ holding midfielder.
In attack, Kaide Gordon makes his first senior appearance since January 2022 after long-term injury on the right, with Ben Doak lining up on the left flank as a result. While I’d be tempted to start Darwin Nunez in the hope he can end his goalscoring drought ahead of facing Man United, he can make do with a place on the bench as Cody Gakpo leads the line.
My team (4-3-3): Kelleher; Bradley, Quansah, Gomez, Chambers; Elliott, McConnell, Jones; Gordon, Gakpo, Doak.
