Carl Rushworth 4

Made some really good saves, but was clearly culpable in the farcical pass-back. A rare error, but sadly a really costly one.

Harry Darling 6

In and amongst it for much of the opening half. Really impressive in the air, and put in some decent tackles, but ran out of steam a little as the second half wore on.

Ben Cabango 5

Made some crucial interventions, but was untidy in possession at times. Could perhaps have done more to keep out the indirect freekick at the near post too.

Bashir Humphreys 7

Read things really well for most of the afternoon. Also stood up to a physical Boro frontline. A little weak in the air, still, but a decent showing from the youngster on the whole.

Josh Key 5

Didn't really have his usual influence out wide. A few promising flashes aside, a pretty quiet outing.

Jay Fulton 6

Kept things ticking over nicely enough. Made a couple of decent tackles and played some decent passes in the final third. A reasonable showing.

Matt Grimes (c) 7

Played his part in the goal. Made a few really good passes. Also showed steel defensively. Only Humphreys had a better pass success rate.

Josh Tymon 8

Produced a couple of passes of real quality. His cross for Lowe's goal in particular was superb. Got caught a couple of times defensively, but a really good performance on the whole.

Liam Walsh 8 - STAR MAN

Should have scored in the first half, but that's about the only negative you could level at him for what was otherwise an outstanding performance. Subbed.

Jamie Paterson 6

Battled really well, but wasn't as effective in the final third as he would have liked. Did put in several really good challenges, mind.

Jamal Lowe 6

Took his goal really well, but was otherwise quite isolated for much of the afternoon.

Subs:

Ollie Cooper (on for Walsh 64) - A pretty quiet cameo - 5

Yannick Bolasie (on for Paterson 82) - As above, really - 5

Jerry Yates (on for Humphreys 82) - Again, didn't really get into the game - 5

Charlie Patino (on for Fulton 87) - n/a
