John Hartson fires loaded Celtic rupture claim as 'coasting' players and Brendan Rodgers hit with brutal double whammy
The Celtic hero has aimed both barrels at his old club and reckons something is afoot.
John Hartson has hinted that some Celtic players are 'coasting' and aren't as good as they think they are.
The raging Hoops hero has identified what he believes are two potential reasons for Brendan Rodgers' men being in a slump of late, with a rough Champions League exit being compounded by consecutive defeats at Kilmarnock and at home against Hearts. The Scottish Premiership champions have now opened up a path for rivals Rangers to keep pace in the title race, with the Gers conversely topping off a successful week by winning the Viaplay Cup.
And Hartson has floated two potential theories as to why there has been a drop off under the Irishman. One is that some of the Parkhead contingent believe they are bigger than the sum of their Celtic parts and are 'coasting' through the season. His second hypothesis is that members of the squad are not turning up as they should be for Rodgers.
He said on X: "2 things possibly going wrong at Celtic.. the players are coasting and some of them think they are better than what they are.. secondly the players are not putting everything in for the manager."
